About Us
Learn about our journey, mission, and the passion that drives us to excel in STEM Racing.
Our Story
Fenix Team was formed in 2025 by a group of passionate students from Costa Rica, driven by a shared interest in engineering, design, and motorsports. The team was born out of the ashes of our former team, Vulkan Team, which unfortunately lost the competition in 2024. However, instead of being defeated, we embraced the spirit of rebirth, like the mythical phoenix, and decided to rise again, stronger and more determined than ever.
Our name, "Fenix," symbolizes our capacity to overcome challenges and reinvent ourselves through innovation and perseverance. Just as the phoenix rises from its ashes, we too have emerged with a renewed sense of purpose, aiming to prove that failure is simply the first step toward success.
As the first team from our school to participate in this prestigious STEM Racing competition, we are proud to represent Costa Rica on the global stage, showcasing the talent, resilience, and creativity of young Costa Rican engineers and designers.

About STEM Racing
STEM Racing (formerly known as F1 in Schools) is a global multi-disciplinary challenge in which teams of students aged 9 to 19 deploy CAD/CAM software to collaborate, design, analyze, manufacture, test, and then race miniature compressed air powered cars.
The competition encourages the development of skills including design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing, and teamwork. It's recognized as one of the most prestigious STEM competitions worldwide.
Teams compete at regional, national, and international levels, with the World Finals bringing together the best teams from around the globe to compete for the World Championship title.
